Palm Jumeirah projects are among the most complex and extensive curtain installations we undertake. The frond villas — which range from standard three-bedroom townhouses to custom signature villas with four or more storeys — often have thirty to sixty windows across the full property, requiring coordinated specification of multiple heading types, fabric selections, and track systems across different rooms and orientations. The sea-facing elevations of frond villas are exclusively salt-air environments: the distance from the water is sometimes less than ten metres, and marine-grade hardware is mandatory on every exterior and near-exterior installation regardless of whether the window is technically indoors.

Outdoor terrace and pergola curtains are particularly common on Palm villas. The covered terraces overlooking the Palm's private beach strips are frequently the most used outdoor living space in the property, and full-width curtain panels that can be drawn in the afternoon to control sun and wind are a standard feature request. We specify solution-dyed acrylic fabric panels on marine-grade stainless or anodised aluminium track systems for these installations, and we carry out a structural assessment of the pergola or terrace cover before confirming the installation method. Palm pergola structures vary significantly in their construction quality depending on the age of the villa and any modifications carried out by previous owners, and we assess each individually.

The Palm trunk and boardwalk apartments — including The Crescent, Oceana, and the newer Ellington and Omniyat projects — have the same marine-grade hardware requirement as the villas, but with window configurations more typical of high-rise apartment construction. These include floor-to-ceiling glazing, wide sliding glass doors facing the sea, and in some buildings, curved window details that require custom-bent track solutions. We have fitted in all of the major Palm trunk and boardwalk buildings and carry the bespoke track bending and fitting equipment needed for curved window configurations.

Full-villa Palm projects are coordinated differently from single-apartment orders. We assign a dedicated project contact for any Palm villa project covering more than ten windows, carry out a comprehensive room-by-room measuring survey, and prepare a specification document covering each window individually before the written quote is issued. This level of documentation is standard practice on Palm projects because the cost of an incorrect specification in a premium villa — where the fabric may be custom-ordered velvet or hand-woven linen — is significant, and the time cost of a return visit for a remeasure is considerable for both the client and our team.
