Arabian Ranches is a mature villa community established in the early 2000s, and the curtain work we undertake there reflects the character of the community: full-villa projects rather than individual room orders, traditional interior schemes that suit pencil pleat and pinch pleat heading more than wave, and the accumulated knowledge of fitting in properties that were built by the original developer to a consistent construction standard that we understand in detail. We have fitted curtains in Saheel, Palmera, Mirador, Alvorada, and Al Mahra as well as the newer Mudon and Ranches II and III phases, and the differences between these sub-communities in terms of window configuration are well known to our team.

The window configurations in Arabian Ranches properties are more varied than in newer developments. Older ranches villas have a mix of fixed-light windows with deep stone surrounds, standard sliding doors, bay windows, and in some cases ornate fixed window frames that predate the current convention of floor-to-ceiling glazing. Each of these window types requires a different track specification, and the older wall construction in some Ranches villas — particularly those with rendered block walls rather than the plastered concrete common in newer builds — requires specific fixing assessment before we confirm the installation method. We carry a full range of fixing types and assess wall construction at the home visit.

Pencil pleat is the most commonly specified heading in Arabian Ranches because the traditional-influenced interior design in these properties — upholstered sofas, timber furniture, warm stone floors, and traditional rugs — is well served by the dense, classic gather of pencil pleat heading rather than the clean contemporary wave. Many Ranches clients are also replacing curtains that were fitted by the original developer or a previous owner, and the existing tracks are frequently in good condition, allowing the fabric to be replaced without the additional cost of track replacement. We always assess the condition and compatibility of existing tracks before recommending replacement.

Outdoor terraces in Arabian Ranches villas are a regular request. The covered terrace overlooking the garden — typical of the ground floor in most Ranches villa layouts — is a primary outdoor living space for the majority of the year, and external curtain panels that can be drawn in the afternoon to create shade and privacy are a commonly requested addition. The distance from the coast means the standard aluminium outdoor track specification is appropriate (rather than the marine-grade used for Marina and Palm), and the garden orientation means privacy from neighbours rather than sun blocking is usually the primary brief for the terrace panels.
